iOS Tips and Tricks Activating and Using Siri:

Activating Siri on an iPhone is as easy as holding down the Home button.

When you press and hold the Home button for a second or two,

Siri will open and you will see a circle with swirling colors in it at the bottom of your screen.

When you see this icon, Siri is active and waiting for you to talk.

Your phone can be set so that you can say “Hey Siri” to open the Siri program.

You can ask Siri a question, such as “What time is it in London, England?” and Siri will provide you with an accurate answer.

Siri can understand hundreds of questions and commands and can activate many features on your phone.

Choose Siri’s Voice and Teach Siri to Pronounce Names:

Go to Settings, choose Siri, and scroll down until you find “Siri Voice”.

This allows you to pick a language, an accent,

and a voice that you like and you can change those choices any time you like.

While Siri is great at a lot of things, pronouncing names is not one of them.

You can program Siri to pronounce the names of your contacts properly.

Open Siri and say “Learn how to pronounce [contact name].”

Siri will ask you to help determine which contact you mean, and then will ask you to pronounce the name.

Several choices will come up on the screen, and all you have to do is choose the one Siri got right.
