Printer Choices

There are so many times in life when you need to print things from your phone or computer that it is essential for every household to have a printer/scanner, even if it is a small, basic setup that has very few functions.

There are three main types of printer Choices: Inkjet Printers, Laser Jet Printers, and Multifunction Printers.

Which printer you buy depends very much on what you intend to use it for, as well as how much printing you will do with it, but space is also a serious consideration, since some printers are huge and take up a lot of space.

Inkjet and Laser Printers:

Inkjet printers are the most popular for home use, and they operate by spraying a fine jet of ink onto the paper.

The biggest drawback to inkjet printers is the cost of the ink.  Many people choose to use refill kits or get used cartridges refilled professionally, but those options may not have great results all the time.

Laser printers are more common in a workplace situation, and they operate by using laser beams to attract toner to certain areas of the paper.

These printers are more expensive to buy than Ink Jet printers, but ink costs are a bit lower, so they pretty much even out in the end.

Multifunction/All-In-One Printer Choices:

A basic multifunction or all-in-one printer can print, copy, scan, and fax.  These are usually Ink Jet printers and come in different sizes.

Multifunction printers are usually the big machines that you see in offices – they tend to be too big for residential use.

All-in-one printers are common in homes and can perform all the functions needed for a home office or just personal use.

All-in-one printers are usually reliable and last a long time, so choosing one that is a fairly good quality will pay off in the end.

The top three brands for all-in-one printers are Brother, Epson, and Canon, so choosing one of those brands will almost always guarantee good performance.
